VMware Top Announcements for 2/10/16!

VMware VSAN 6.2 Announced 02/10/2016
VSAN 6.2 has been announced today and it will help customers achieve a more cost-efficient performance, improve support for any application, and accelerate time to value. It can offer customers an all-flash HCI system for as low as a $1 per usable GB and increased storage efficiency by up to 10x. There are some cool improvements from the efficiency standpoint (Inline dedup, compression, erasure coding) and also from the performance monitoring perspective (no more need for VSAN observer and RVC). In case you missed out, this is the 4th release of VSAN already!

vRealize Suite 7 Announced 02/10/2016
VMware vRealize Suite 7 features new and currently available product releases:
  • (New) VMware vRealize Operations 6.2 – VMware vRealize Operations 6.2 builds upon the intelligent workload placement capabilities originally introduced in Q3 2015 to help customers save time while enabling enhanced application and infrastructure performance. VMware vRealize Operations 6.2 will introduce new intelligent workload placement capabilities including tight integration with VMware vSphere® Distributed Resource Scheduler™ (DRS). Learn more here.
  • (New) VMware vRealize Log Insight 3.3 – VMware vRealize Log Insight 3.3 will introduce a number of backend and operational enhancements. This release introduces Simple Query API for easy integration into existing processes and Web Hooks support for third-party application integration. Learn more here.
  • VMware vRealize Automation 7 – VMware vRealize Automation 7 offers unified service blueprint capabilities that simplify and accelerate the delivery of integrated multi-tier applications with application-centric networking and security across clouds. Learn more here.
